Chemical Peel

If you want to enhance your appearance and self-confidence then a chemical peel may be right for you. A chemical peel may be used to improve and smooth the texture of facial skin by removing damaged outer layers. This procedure may also be used to remove pre-cancerous skin growths, soften acne facial scars, and in some cases, even control acne.

The Procedure
A chemical peel uses a chemical solution to enhance your appearance. This solution can be placed on the entire face or just on a specific area such as around the mouth. After the chemical peel is performed a thick layer of petroleum jelly may be applied to the treated area.

Before and After
A protective crust may be permitted to form over the treated area and when removed, the underlying skin is pink in color. After the chemical peel skin may be dry, flaky, or irritated. The redness will begin to fade and you can return to normal activity within two weeks.
